"It's the End of the World as We Know It"
And I feel fine. LEONARD BERNSTEIN! (You'll only get that joke if you know the song and spent any time in college bars during the Nineties.)
After more than three and a half years of blogging, written and photo, I've decided to call it quits. My heart just isn't into this any more. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to motivate myself to post anything, and when it becomes this much of a chore, perhaps it's time for a break. I find it amazing that I've been able to keep it up this long, since most blogs make it one month before they are abandoned.
There are a few changes that are happening in my life, major life-altering events, that I'm going to be sharing with you in the coming weeks (if I haven't already personally told you). In the spirit of changes, I thought this would be the most appropriate time to turn the page on this chapter.
I may come back soon, I may not. I'll still be posting photos regularly on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/sprakope) but there isn't the pressure to post daily, so I can be a little lax in my uploading and not feel guilty.
I'm going to leave the archives up for the time being but eventually I'm going to collapse everything into a generic placeholder. I own the Prakope.com domain for something like the next 10 years, I renewed it for a number of years late last year, so who knows what the next incarnation might look like if or when I come back.
It's been a wonderful time blogging and I'll still be in touch with most of you (except those lurkers whom I've never met). Some of you I may even still see in that meatspace called life. Until then, so long and thanks for all the fish [1].
If you want to be sure that you're kept in the loop, drop your email in the comments or you can send me an email at whythehellareyouleaving@prakope.com (Yes, that's a valid email address.)
